A: No, They are all Normally open devices.

A: No, frost or moisture can cause malfunction.

A: No, the response time is determined by the ambient temp. Warmer temps = slower response.

Q: Can I extend the remote sensor and what type of cable is recommended.
A: The remote sensor can be extended up to 500 ft using a 22AWG (or larger) twisted pair wire.

Q: Will the unit hold it’s setting if power is lost.
A: Yes, all set points will be saved in the unit.

Q: Can the unit be calibrated/adjusted.
A: Yes, the offset programming instruction are in the manuals.

Q: What is the cause if the unit keeps going into false alarm.
A: If the sensor is placed on a concrete floor this can cause false alarms. Also power loss will cause a false alarm.

Q: How much water does it take to trip the sensor.
A: You need enough water to bridge across two of the metal contacts on the sensor.

Q: How far can the sensor be from the module.
A: 100 feet per sensor, up to six sensors.

Q: Can the sensor cable be extended and what type of wire should be used.
A: The sensor can be extended up to 2500 ft using a 22AWG shielded twisted pair with ground. Direct burial cable is recommended.

Q: Will the VAL-1 sense people or animals.
A: No, it will only detect moving iron objects. LIGHTNING AND RADIO INTERFERENCE CAN CAUSE FALSE ALARMS.
