Winland Electronics, Inc. was incorporated as a Minnesota corporation in October 1972. Before 1985, the Company derived most of its revenues from the sale to farms and businesses of electronic sensors and alarms, which monitor and detect improper temperature, power failure, water leakage and other environmental emergencies. In 1984, in an effort to diversify its business, the Company began to design and manufacture custom electronic controls and assemblies for OEM customers. Today, Winland is known as a full-service contract design and manufacturing company that also markets proprietary products for the security/industrial marketplace. The
Company recorded sales of $24.2 million in 2004, $30.4 million in 2005 and $37.9 million in 2006.
The Company moved into a new manufacturing facility in 1995 and expanded it by 10% in 1999. In July of 1999, Winland announced a new line of proprietary products- direct current motor controllers. On January 27, 2000, the Company announced that it had met all the requirements to begin trading its common stock on the AMEX exchange under the symbol WEX. In 2004 the Company added a new assembly line for surface mount technology products. The hard work and dedication of all employees has taken Winland from two full-time employees with $230,000 in sales in 1983 to the present where we employee over 125 people and recorded sales of $37.9 million in 2006.

Today, more than ever, companies are looking to the outside for assistance in the areas of product design and manufacturing. This is due in part to the continued trend toward outsourcing in corporate America. We believe that Winland Electronics is positioned with the necessary services and expertise to become a leading electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider in the Midwest. We are working hard to continue our success and in doing so we hope to create a pool of good paying manufacturing jobs for our community and southern Minnesota.
